We asked Drake Valley Press author, p.m.terrell, to give us her tips and tricks for aspiring authors. These pages are a work in progress; soon to be added is information about "How to do a Book Signing" and "How to Put Together a Press Kit", among other topics.   Ms. Terrell is the author of The China Conspiracy and Kickback, both suspense/thrillers published by Drake Valley Press, as well as 4 non-fiction computer books published by Dow Jones-Irwin and Scott-Foresman. The China Conspiracy was a nominee for the Library of Virginia’s 2004 Literary Awards, and is on the Recommended Reading List for EntreNet, which is run by Virginia Commonwealth University, the Greater Richmond Technology Council, and Virginia’s Center for Innovative Technology. Ms. Terrell conducts Writer's Workshops that covers all of the material she has submitted here, and frequently speaks at schools, libraries, and writer's events. She is also the co-founder of The Book 'Em Foundation, which sponsors the annual Book 'Em Event featuring dozens of authors. She also served as the first female President of the Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers in Virginia (2003-2004), the state Treasurer for Virginia Crime Stoppers Association (2004), and the Ad Coordinator for Sisters in Crime (2003-2004), an organization of true crime, suspense, and mystery writers. She’s been featured on PBS and Voice of America as well as a multitude of radio and television programs, and she’s been profiled in countless newspaper articles.
